Description

This Juneteenth, Mickee Faust invites you to join us for a free Afternoon Tea, featuring an array of teas, sweets and savories, and two films by Black Queer Filmmakers E. Patrick Johnson and Chisom Ukoha. E. Patrick’s Johnson’s film features charming, tea time interviews with the queer Southern men of color he interviewed for his live production of Sweet Tea: Black Gay Men of the South. Chisom Ukoha’s film, Been Tired, examines how making leisure more central to Black lives can empower personal and political resistance.

In keeping with the themes of both films, a leisurely tea will be served during the films. And those who want to stay and chat about the films afterwards are most welcome. Expect sweet tea, unsweetened tea, sweet potato pie, southern pecan cake, peach cobbler and sour cream pound cake.

The tea and the films are FREE but seating is limited, so please register.
